Things to do on Father’s Day!

June is coming up quick and with it we need a plan.  What to do in June? Well there is the Huck Finn’s Jubilee on June 14-16. This does fall on Fathers Day weekend but you can celebrate the 1880s with banjo picking, raft making, frog jumping, and more with dad!  There is also live bluegrass music played on this 150 acre venue at the Guasti Regional Park.  There is  a water park and there will be an art festival there too!  Much to do with Dad at this event so come check it out!  http://www.huckfinn.com/

There is a charge for this event so please check out the website for full details

Artist of the week – Kao Lee Thao

I must say I have been a huge fan of her work since I first saw her work back in 2009 and instantly fell in love with her work.   I asked her to be in my all female art show Organized Chaos and she accepted my invitation, then confirming a fan for life!

Kao is so amazingly talented and I really can’t cover all of her mediums here as she is expanding them daily, but you can get more info here on her site: http://innerswirl.com/

Kao is such a fun artist to follow because she is very talented in so many different mediums and aspects of art that you never know what you will get from her next! As well as art, Kao is also an Animator, Art Director, Painter, Sculptor, Fashion Designer….the list is never ending.  Please feel free to check out her Etsy shop to buy her amazing work among many other things! http://www.etsy.com/shop/InnerSwirl

Artist Statement:

Puddle jumping sums up my background properly. I’m continually sucked into one path after another. I started seeing a pattern echoed through each, people and people’s minds fascinate me. Needless to say I spent half my life studying psychology dreaming to become a psychiatrist and unwrap people’s minds. Unexpectedly a reoccurring dream urged me to abandon psychology and pursue my childhood passion of art. After studying people’s desires for so long, to ignore my own would have been foolish. I left the psychology world behind and dove head first into pursuing my art interest.
